Nebraska coach gets hit in the groin with a football: Video

Coaches get angry with referees frequently, but this unnamed Nebraska coach had a very legitimate reason to be upset with one of the officials at this past weekend’s Nebraska/Kansas game.

Watch as the referee moves down the sideline signaling an incomplete pass. The ball goes right past his moving screen and into the groin of the coach, who never saw it coming.

The ball, his groin… it works on so many levels!

It’s Monday, and those of you who are fortunate enough to have jobs probably feel like you’ve been kicked in the balls at some point today.

So take a minute from your busy day and enjoy the misfortune of John Hutchinson of Australia’s Central Coast Mariners. Hutchinson and Carlos Hernandez of the Melbourne Victory both went for the ball, except Hernandez clearly had a different target in mind for his foot.

To add insult to groin-kicking, the announcers then laughed as the replay of Hutchinson getting booted was shown over and over again.

It makes sense that Hutchinson would be rolling on the ground after getting kicked in the nuts, but why was Hernandez acting like he was injured? The only possible explanation: John Hutchinson’s testicles are made out of lead and covered in sharp spikes.

Someone getting hit in the groin = funny. A referee who resembles Üter getting hit in the groin = hilarious.

Not only did the kid stagger around for a full 17 seconds, the laughter of the entire crowd (not to mention the kids on the field) can clearly be heard as he crumbled in pain. Definitely not a good day at the office for this ref, and he’ll probably be spending his $25 on ice packs.

Yesterday’s Gold Cup match between Mexico and Panama featured an array of bad sportsmanship on all sides, but particularly from Mexico.

Unprofessional Foul has the entire recap with several videos that you should definitely head over and check out, but here’s the short version of one of the incidents.

Panama’s Ricardo Phillips was dribbling along the sideline when he got kicked at by Mexico’s manager, Javier Aguirre. Initial replays made it look like Aguirre had just gone for the ball while it was in play, which is bad enough, but the video above clearly shows that Aguirre was going for Phillips’ balls instead. You stay classy, Mexico.

Phillips then went after Aguirre, with both men getting sent off. Of course, Phillips refused to leave for a long time, thus delaying the game further. Somehow, play eventually resumed with no further nut-kickings & ended in a 1-1 draw.

While playing in an indoor soccer match, a player named Daiana attempted to clear out a ball, but ended up clearing out 3 of them.

Her kick flew right toward the camera guy, who absorbed the impact with his nuts and an audible “oof” as the camera slowly twisted to the ground.

Something tells me his next video will be from much higher up in the stands.

The words “severe groin trauma” are something you never want to hear.

Inter Milan’s Mario Balotelli heard that diagnosis last Wednesday after this unfortunate incident in the Coppa Italia against Sampadoria.

Balotelli appeared to randomly collapse in the middle of the field. As players and trainers rushed to help, everyone else was wondering what caused him to go down.

Finally the replay came, and it was obvious what happened: Mario Balotelli had gone for a header, missed, and then performed an ill-advised pole dance.

Hitting a ball off the post is always disappointing, but that’s rough.
