Cristiano Ronaldo Attacks Girl For Videotaping Him & His Mom

A 17-year-old Portuguese girl is claiming she was attacked by Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The girl, Sara Pardal, was videotaping him and his mother from another car. According to police reports, Ronaldo saw her and left his Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano to confront her. He then kicked in the window of the car she was sitting in, covering her in glass. She was treated for several cuts at a local hospital.

While there is some debate as to whether this girl was a fan or if she was a member of the paparazzi and accompanied by another photographer, there’s still no excuse for Cristiano Ronaldo attacking someone for filming him in a public place. He’s a public figure, this comes with the territory. He might not have liked people filming his mother, but an assault is not the answer.

What’s worse is his response following the incident.

“I was accompanied by my mother, and he by a young woman who throughout our whole journey ostensibly and provocatively filmed all our movements.

“This persecution caused my mother to be so disturbed and upset that I had to stop my car to try to convince them to leave us in peace.

“I try to swallow it and remain indifferent. But when my mother is involved, then I’m sorry but I don’t let anyone, I repeat anyone, harass her.

“I regret what I did, but I can’t promise that I would not react in the same way again in the same circumstances.”

What a way to celebrate your move to Real Madrid, Cristiano. Not only did you cover a girl in shards of glass, you won’t promise you won’t do it again. Even if your mother was with you & you were trying to do it for her benefit, that’s hardly an action that would make most moms proud.

Barcelona’s Gerard Pique recently appeared on a talk show and took aim at some plates and vases that had been set up on a bookshelf. It’s just like the shooting accuracy competition at the NHL All-Star Game, except with fewer Canadians.

The problem was, Pique apparently can’t kick accurately to save his life. Those puppets nodding in the background could have done a better job. After several attempts, Pique finally connected. When he tried to then throw one of the vases to the ground, it apparently was plastic anyway. That’s no fun.

If your team just won the Champions League Final, as well as the Spanish La Liga crown and Copa del Rey, you’d probably drink a fair amount. So it’s perfectly acceptable that Barcelona star Lionel Messi would be getting drunk afterward.

Someone wisely handed Lionel a microphone so we could see just how drunk he was (answer: very).

Messi then drunkenly claimed that Barcelona would win the Treble again next year, which of course the fans loved.

Messi: ““Do you want the treble… here is the treble… and next year we will win it all again!”

He may have just been talking about the triple shot he just did, but we’ll see if Messi can come through on his drunken promise next year.

We’ve all done it. Sometimes you think a folding chair is in the down position, but it’s really not, so you either fall down or bump into the seat badly on your way down.

Most of us don’t have such graceful moves recorded for posterity on live television, of course, unlike Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini, who struggled with his seat as his team struggled with Arsenal at Emirates Stadium, crashing out of the Champions League.

Villarreal To Help Unemployed Fans By Giving Out Free Season Tickets

Some fans of Spanish La Liga side Villarreal are very lucky, at least in one aspect of their lives.

Next season, Villarreal will be helping out fans who are unemployed. Players will be contributing to a fund to provide season tickets who have lost their jobs, so they can still continue to attend games and follow their team, even though they no longer have income.

With unemployment in Spain at 13.9 percent, and even higher in Castellon at 14.7 percent, there are many fans will want to take advantage of these free tickets.

Villarreal president Fernando Roig said, “Season-ticket holders who are on the dole will be allowed in free next year. The idea is to think of the club’s wider social base and those who have been unlucky to lose their jobs so they can continue to watch football in the Madrigal.”

Employees from around the club will contribute to a fund to help fans, from star players like Robert Pires, Marcos Senna, and Joseba Llorente to the club’s board, coaches, and sponsors.

Llorente was eager to support the proposal, saying, “We are keen to get involved because it seems like a good idea considering the times we are in. There are many people without work and it’s a shame if they don’t come to the stadium because of this.”

You listening, American sports teams? Attendance will certainly be down, and you will surely be looking for ways to get fans to come to games to keep the revenue flowing and maintain a home-field advantage. Instead of trotting out millionaires to play in empty stadiums and arenas, you can do something to help the unemployed out like Villarreal is.*

Seeing as I am out of work right now, I welcome all ticket donations, even to unimportant sports and tractor pulls. Especially tractor pulls.

*Note: This suggestion does not apply to the Detroit Lions. You have inflicted way too much pain already on an already troubled region of the country, those poor people don’t need to add to the misery by having to go to more Lions games.

The rain in Spain may fall mainly on the plain, but the snow apparently falls on Spanish goalkeepers.

A match between Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao had to be stopped for a time as opposing fans pelted Bilbao’s goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz with snowballs.

Referee Cesar Muniz Fernandez said:

Before the start of the game, and when we were on the pitch, home fans behind the goal defended by Bilbao threw numerous snowballs towards the goal, some of them hitting the goalkeeper. In the fifth minute, I was forced to stop the game for a minute because of the continuous throwing of snowballs and had to ask officials to take the necessary measures.

Bilbao got their revenge once play resumed, winning 3-2.

Over the past year, Spain has become well-known for their lack of racial tolerance in the sporting world. First, F1 Champion Lewis Hamilton was greeted by fans in blackface during pre-season testing in Spain. Then, there was the incident where the Spanish basketball team posted for these photographs before the Olympics in China.

Now you can add Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos to that list after he wore blackface & a turban in a holiday parade. It was part of an Epiphany celebration called Los Reyes Magos de Camas, in which parades are held honoring the three wise men & children request gifts from the kings. Apparently, this celebration also involves putting on blackface.

Unless you’re Robert Downey, Jr., coloring your face black is not a good idea these days. Of course, Spanish athletes haven’t exactly been full of good ideas lately.
