There aren’t many details regarding today’s bench-clearing brawl between the Spokane Indians and Vancouver Canadians, but it looks like it was all kicked off by a scrappy young fellow with a Napoleon complex named Rougned Odor. Procter and Gamble, get on that.

There’s also a lot of yelling in the video, since this was clearly the most exciting to ever happen in Spokane on a Monday afternoon. Four players were ejected, including Odor.

Fun fact: While the Vancouver Canadians are logically a minor league affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Spokane Indians are affiliated with the Texas Rangers and not the Cleveland Indians, like one might guess. Spokane’s racism is therefore completely independent.

Up in Canada, the Winnipeg Goldeyes and the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks were both issued warnings after a Goldeye pitcher threw behind a RedHawk batter. The batter had been upset, but both sides appeared that they would coolly prevent things from escalating.

At least they did until the 2 managers, Doug Simunic and Tom Vaeth, got in each others faces and then began to fight. Excellent.

With hockey season still a few weeks away, it’s nice to see that Canada has found other things to fight about. Best not to tangle with folks from Fargo though, lest they bring out the woodchippers.

What is it with putting on a Braves uniform that makes a manager go crazy? Atlanta Braves skipper Bobby Cox has the all-time record for ejections. Mississippi Braves manager Phillip Wellman is well-known for his grenade-tossing tirade from a couple of years ago. Now you can add Rome Braves manager Randy Ingle to that list.

On Thursday, a bobble-headed Ingle was angry about a home run that was ruled foul in the 10th inning of a game against the Augusta GreenJackets. As he grew increasingly incensed, he tossed his helmet toward the dugout, finally prompting the ejection that everyone knew was coming.

Ingle headed down the disputed left field line toward third base, which he then picked up. So far, this was nothing baseball fans hadn’t seen before.

What Ingle did next though finally earns him high marks for creativity. He carried third base toward second base, dropping it near where the shortstop would be. With great gusto, the manager then made a foul ball signal, mocking the umpire for his call.

It wasn’t the most explosive managerial tirade we’ve seen, but it will do.

According to witnesses, the two players, Michael Rocco and Matthew Oye, were hitting and kicking a man behind a bar in Tempe, Arizona. Police said that Oye was hitting the victim with a metal pipe he had found on the ground. When the police showed up, both players fled. They were caught after a short chase.

Seeing as these two professional athletes couldn’t outrun the police, it’s safe to say that speed is not one of the tools these guys posess.

Nor will Oye do so well on any intelligence tests. He fled right in the direction of the Tempe Police Department and was arrested right in front of the building.

If you’re going to flee from the police, you might want to actually flee from the police and not run straight at them.

One team has answered that call. The first American team to give free tickets to the unemployed is the Buffalo Bisons.

The Bisons, who are the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, are offering free tickets to their April 9th Opening Day game against the Pawtucket Red Sox to people who are out of work. At least this will give Gary Sheffield something to do that day.

“Our nation’s pastime has seen this country through many tough times, and together the two have always come out on top,” said Mike Buczkowski, Vice President/General Manager of the Bisons. “Many of the fans that helped us shatter attendance records are the ones being affected by this unsettling economic environment. The Bisons are honored to make all those fans our guests on Opening Day.”

The Buffalo Bisons are teaming up with the New York State Labor Department for the promotion.

“Spring is here in Western New York, and with it, a new beginning for the Buffalo Bisons and their fans,” State Labor Commissioner M. Patricia Smith said, “On April 9, come to the ballpark, bring your families and most importantly, watch the Bisons trounce the Red Sox. Just as Opening Day is filled with promise, we at the State Labor Department are proud to be teaming with the Bisons to spread the promise of hope to the unemployed right here in Western New York.”

It’s good that unemployed Buffalo-area residents will be able to take their mind off their situation for a few hours during the game. Hopefully the Bisons won’t get snowed out.

Earlier this week, we brought you the Fifth Third Burger, the food item of choice at West Michigan Whitecaps games.

CNBC’s Darren Rovell became the first person to try the massive burger today.

First, he had to put the thing together. If there’s anything that looks less appetizing than the completed product, it’s seeing just how much of the individual ingredients are in the burger. The entire bowl of nacho cheese was what pushed it over the edge. And the tomatoes, those too. Tomatoes are the food of Satan.

Of course, if Darren had put the burger together at the same speed that most concession workers do, this video would have lasted an hour.

Congratulations, Darren, you managed to accomplish a culinary feat that few can. No, not trying the Fifth Third Burger. Kudos on managing to keep your food down while Jim Cramer was yelling in your ear.

Minor League teams always have to be creative to stand out, and the West Michigan Whitecaps will be taking away this year’s award for Most Creative Ballpark Food Item.

Creative, however, does not mean appetizing.

Meet the Fifth Third Burger, sponsored by the bank Fifth Third, whose stock rose 11.74% today. Wall Street apparently loves giant hamburgers.

The Fifth Third Burger contains: 5/3 lbs (1.66) of beef with lettuce, tomato, salsa, sour cream, chili and Fritos.

In case you were curious just how unhealthy this burger is, the total is around 4889 calories. But you can probably cut that down to 4789 if you skip the mayo.

They may call it the Fifth Third Burger, but the Fifth Turd Burger might be more appropriate given the number of times those who attempt to eat it will end up in the bathroom.

Upon hearing about this monstrosity, one thing comes to mind: Taco Town from Saturday Night Live.

Sure, the Fifth Third Burger might be huge & comes with a t-shirt if you finish it off, but does it come in its own commemorative tote bag? That’s what I thought.
