Game 1 of the College World Series championship series between LSU and Texas yesterday was stopped momentarily as the umpire was having some problems with his equipment.

It seems he was having some sweating problems, which were then impacting the baseballs he keeps at his waist.

While explaining the delay, ESPN announcer Mike Patrick made an amazing selection of words and said, “What I think is happening is the balls are getting wet in the umpire’s sack.”

Indeed. Nobody wants a wet ball sack.

It’s tough to find things to do during a long rain delay, but during the Big East Baseball Tournament, the UConn Huskies and South Florida Bulls managed to kill a good portion of the time with a dance competition.

Players from the two teams engaged in a variety of dances, encompassing everything from the Macarena to an Irish jig. The whole thing ended with South Florida players sliding on the tarp, only to be followed by the Huskies team doing the same thing while shirtless. Thankfully the video cuts off before anyone takes off their pants.

If the Big East ever decides to scrap this silly baseball tournament and settle things by dancing, UConn & South Florida are ready.
