Josh Hamilton Had Some Fun With Some Drunk ASU Girls At Maloney’s
Much has been made of Josh Hamilton’s drug addiction and subsequent recovery. Well, thanks to A.J. Daulerio and Deadspin, we have these photos of Hamilton having some fun with some drunk girls this past off-season. Could this be an explanation as to why he has not performed well this year?
These photos are from Maloney’s, a bar for douchebags that was formerly located in Tempe, Arizona, where I went to school. The photos were taken this January, and clearly show an oft-shirtless Josh Hamilton engaging in some drunken fun with some classy ASU girls and some whipped cream. Did I mention Josh Hamilton is married?
Hamilton is just human of course, and part of being human is being imperfect. But he has built up his profile and received a lot of worship from the media for overcoming his addiction. These photos will certainly make some people think twice about whether or not he should be considered a hero. Whether or not this was a one-time incident (which Hamilton claims it was), he will be dealing with his issues for the rest of his life.

“I’m embarrassed about it, personally, for the Rangers, for my wife, my children and my family,” Hamilton said at his locker with a handful of his teammates joining the crowd of media that had formed. “It reinforces one of the things that I can’t have is alcohol. It’s unfortunate that it happened. I was out there getting ready for the season and took my focus off the number one factor in my recovery – my relationship with Christ. I hate that this happened.”
