Joba Chamberlain Diving Catch vs. Cleveland Indians: Video

Considering he’s a pretty big guy, New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain looked pretty spry tonight against the Cleveland Indians.

With runners on 1st and 2nd in the 5th inning, Kelly Shoppach attempted to bunt to advance them. What Shoppach didn’t count on was a diving Joba Chamberlain, who launched himself toward the popped-up bunt and caught it just in time. Joba then fired the ball to 2nd before Ryan Garko could get back, thus completing the double play.

Bonus: Some birds invaded the field during the game as well. What is it with Joba Chamberlain and winged creatures in Cleveland? If there’s ever a pterodactyl attack during a baseball game, we know where it will take place and who will be on the mound.
