Mascot Fight Between Utah State & New Mexico State: Video

March Madness is now spreading to mascots.

During this weekend’s WAC Tournament in Reno, Nevada, the mascots from Utah State and New Mexico State got into a scuffle.

Big Blue, mascot of the Utah State Aggies, ripped the fake mustache right off the face of Pistol Pete, the New Mexico State Aggies mascot.

The winner of the fight got to keep the Aggie nickname, while the losing school now must be referred to as the New Mexico State Mustaches.

What prompted the fight? A Nevada fan apparently offered the Utah State mascot $100 to take Pistol Pete’s mustache. $100 well spent, for sure.

The suspension of Big Blue did not deter Utah State as they went on to win the WAC title and will now play Marquette in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. With that game being held in Boise, Idaho, don’t be surprised if the Aggies prevail.
