Video: Neil Rackers Free Kick – Arizona Cardinals vs. New York Giants
At the end of the first half of yesterday’s game between the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants, the Cards took advantage of an odd NFL rule and attempted a free kick following a fair catch.
Neil Rackers lined up for what would have been a record-shattering 68-yard field goal. He spent a couple of minutes making sure the football was lined up just perfectly, as Cardinals fans all around the country (okay, that means myself & Will Leitch) held our breaths awaiting the attempt.
The net result of all that waiting? A kick that was worse than what I would have done myself.
It just wasn’t the Cardinals day, but they at least stayed in it until the end against the defending Super Bowl champs. Hopefully the Cards will have their chance for revenge in the playoffs. Playoffs?
