Have You Poked Your Favorite Old Football Coach Today?
Want to be friends with an old college football coach? Now you can, courtesy of the Masters Coaches Poll.
For those who are unaware, the Masters Coaches Poll is a college football poll that is based on votes from retired football coaches who are either Hall of Fame members or are projected to join the Hall in the future.
The people who run the poll have set up their voters with Facebook accounts. Yes, your favorite 70+-year-old football coach is now available to be friended, poked, turned into a zombie, or bombarded with any of the other requests you can make with Facebook apps.
So if you have ever wanted to be friends with (or harass) John Cooper, Terry Donahue, Vince Dooley, Pat Dye, LaVelle Edwards, Hayden Fry, Don James, Frank Kush, Dick MacPherson, Bill Mallory, Don Nehlen, Tom Osborne, John Ralston, John Robinson, R.C. Slocum, Gene Stallings or George Welsh, now you can. I, of course, added Frank Kush to my friends.
Sure, the accounts are probably run by some overworked intern somewhere, but at least you can pretend that these guys are on the other end of the internet waiting to be your new best friend.
