Carlos Zambrano gave Cubs fans quite the scare yesterday when he fell while running to 3rd base in a Cactus League game against the San Francisco Giants. Zambrano hit a deep ball, rounded 2nd, and then belly-flopped.

Other than some bruises, Zambrano was okay. Cubs fans can fortunately breathe a sigh of relief, at least until the next time a Cubs pitcher tries to hurt himself in a comedic fashion.

Someone needs to tell the guy that Spring Training doesn’t matter though – the reason why he was running so hard was because he wanted an inside-the-park home run.
